The 10-Step Korean Skin Care Routine

The Korean skin care routine consists of 10 steps in total. The short step-by-step instructions describe the main features of the skin care routine. Depending on your needs, steps can also be skipped 😊

1. Oil-based Cleanser

The first step in the Korean skin care routine is to wash and double cleanse the face - first with an oil-based and then with a water-based cleanser.

Oil-based cleaners help to remove impurities such as sebum, make-up and old sunscreen residue.

2. Water-based Cleanser

The first step is followed by the second cleaning stage with a water-based cleaner. This cleaner clarifies impurities such as sweat and dirt that could not be removed with oil-based cleaners.

3. Peeling

This is followed by a peeling to cleanse dead skin cells and the pores even deeper, so that the skin feels smooth and soft. We recommend this step 1-2 times per week.

4. Toner

The toner has primarily a regulating and moisturizing effect. The pH value of the skin is balanced again. Ingredients of the care products can now penetrate into deeper skin layers and develop their full effect there.

5. Essence

The essence has a similar consistency to the toner and helps to balance the pH of the skin. It breaks down the ingredients into their individual amino acids, vitamins and similar components, allowing them to penetrate the skin particularly intensively.

6. Serum & Ampoules

Next, a serum is used. The serum contains highly concentrated ingredients and is used to treat specific skin care problems such as acne, wrinkles and dark spots.

Ampoules are serum concentrates and contain a higher concentration of ingredients to provide maximum skin support.

7. Sheet Mask

In the next step, sheet masks are used, which are saturated with different active ingredients for each skin type.

Masks can usually remain on the face for 10-20 minutes so that all ingredients can be absorbed.

8. Eye Cream

The skin around the eye area is more sensitive and thinner than other areas and needs more care. Eye creams moisturize the skin and ensure the targeted absorption of the required ingredients. This care step helps especially against dark circles under the eyes, puffiness, bags under the eyes or even wrinkles.

9. Moisturizer

Hydration is essential for the skin, therefore the right choice of face cream is important. Moisturizers come in different textures and provide the skin with sufficient moisture and ingredients for every skin type.

10. Sun Screen

The last step in the Korean skin care routine includes sun protection. The sun protection factor (SPF) protects the skin from harmful UV rays of the sun and prevents wrinkles. We recommend applying a sunscreen every day regardless of weather or season to protect the skin at any time of the day or year.
